Manikar Das Brahmachari
Manikar Das Brahmachari To perform dhama seva or the service of the holy cities of vrindavan, mayapur etc which will cover keeping the holy lands and the holy rivers clean is inclusive in the Vaishnava philosophy.
Now to paint it in an ‘environmental protection’ hue is not a part of the teachings of Prabhupada or the scriptures.
E.g. Prabhupada changed the entire staff of BTG magazine when they printed an article explaining the material benefits of the Mahamantra. We are not chanting for material benefits. In essence the authors removed the Krishna consciousness element from chanting Krishna’s holy names.
So the Hare Krishna movement is not an environmentalist movement.
Similarly we are not a movement that feeds poor people.
But in fact we do feed but this act of feeding is not sans Krishna viz., it has the sambandha jnana that feeding is the feeding of prasadam which is offered to Krishna.
Similarly with the cleaning of the holy rivers must be done with the awareness of the Krishna factor.
If you remove the Krishna factor viz., “seeing things in connection and Krishna” from any aspect of Krishna consciousness you end up with just goodness or niceness.
These are very subtle point that devotees often miss and form new movements with in the movement.
Technically speaking when you remove the Krishna connection from some act you end up with atheism.
Therefore all isms are atheisms.

Manikar Das Brahmachari
Manikar Das Brahmachari What Krishna service does one find in not polluting the Mississippi or the Danube or the Seine or the Thames?
Why make it in to “not polluting the rivers of the earth”?
